New Graduate Students

The following scholarships are offered to new graduate students as financial assistance and as an inducement to encourage them to enroll in the Humboldt Fisheries Biology MS Program.

James Joseph Award

James Joseph, Director of the InterAmerican Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) and Humboldt's first Fisheries MS graduate, has provided substantial gifts to the Humboldt Fisheries Department.  Together, these gifts allow the Department to offer one award of $2,500 or $5,000, annually or biannually, depending on when the award was last granted.  The award goes to the outstanding Fisheries MS applicant in the Marine Fisheries area.  This one time award is provided to the successful applicant at entrance into the Fisheries Masters Program at Humboldt.

Reduced Tuition Awards for New Non-Resident Graduate Students

Newly accepted non-resident graduate students will automatically be considered for reduced tuition awards on a competitive basis with other graduate students in the College of Natural Resources and Sciences.  These tuition awards generally reduce tuition costs to what they would be for California resident graduate students.
